Over the course of the summer months of July and August, we will take a look at some famous Psalms and some lesser known Psalms as we look at the different seasons we face throughout life.
In week 1 of this series, Pastor Michael begins with Psalm 1 and looks into what this short song says about the righteous and the wicked. Not only will this lay the foundation for the rest of this series, it will also help us to honestly evaluate our own heart now and during upcoming seasons of life.
In week 2 of this series, Pastor Michael continues going through the book of Psalms with a focus on Psalm 8 and God's creation along with the authority He has allowed us to have over it.
In week 3 of this series, guest preacher Josh LaJeunesse from our partners at FBC Thomasville shares from Psalm 16 the hope that we have in Christ and the true unwavering joy and pleasure that can only be found by being with God! (Note: Due to technical difficulties, we only have audio for this message in the Summer in the Psalms series.)
In week 4 of this series, Pastor Michael dives into Psalm 34 and shows us that affliction will certainly come but we can take hope because God promises to rescue us! He also shows the value of continuing to do good in the midst of trials and continuing to magnify the Lord both individually and collectively with our brothers and sisters in Christ!
In week 5 of this series, our Worship Pastor, Chris Simmons, works through Psalm 51 and breaks down the importance of owning up to our sin and asking God to cleanse our hearts as we delight in Him.
In week 6 of this series, we get to hear from our Missions and Outreach Coordinator, Savannah Hutto. Savannah shares her testimony and the role that Psalm 91, specially, has played in her life.
In week 7 of this series, Pastor Michael walks us through Psalm 103 and the forgiveness we have in Christ.
In week 8 of this series, Michael focuses on Psalm 139 and reminds us that we can't escape God's pursuit of us.
